May is Women's Health Month
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) can impact puberty, periods, sexual and reproductive health. Individuals who were born female with sickle cell disease may experience delayed onset of puberty, a greater number of pain crisis than males due to normal changes in hormones and some may have difficulty getting pregnant and/or high-risk pregnancies. Unfortunately, research has identified deep disparities in access to reproductive and sexual health care in this area.
Join us in a presentation and discussion with Medical providers and experts from Children’s Minnesota’s Sickle Cell Program and The Pediatric Adolescent Gyn Program.
