Community Education & Awareness Programs
SickleSMART Education & Awareness Programs
Education is one of the vehicles by which Sickle Cell Foundation of MN seeks to increase education and awareness while building sustainable partnerships that address disparities and improve outcomes. By partnering with public health initiatives, medical providers, industry partners, schools, churches, community health initiatives and other community groups, we’re better able to create education opportunities for persons who are living with, caring for, or seeking to improve outcomes in sickle cell disease.
SickleCellMN offers a variety of virtual and in-person education opportunities throughout the year for patients, caregivers, medical professionals and other community stakeholders.

At SickleCellMN, we believe that improving physical health outcomes must also include improving mental and emotional health as well.
SickleSMILE - “Supporting Modern Initiatives for Life Enjoyment” - is a program that focuses on a more holistic view of our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, often the least discussed topics when addressing overall health needs.
